Les pics

Settled in Mauritius in the mid 1999 for a long period, after several stays in the North of the island, and married to a Mauritian citizen since 1993, I had much appreciated the beauty of the landscape which I discovered during the numerous strolls in the four corners of the island. A beauty intensified by light and shade contrasts generated by a bright sun, moving in a generally East-West direction, during the two seasons prevailing in the Southern hemisphere. As from dawn, the rising sun enlightens the steep slopes of the basaltic peaks whose reliefs cut out majestically on the blue sky sometimes covered with patches of white clouds. Then, at sunset, beyond the Indian Ocean, these giant peaks sleep side by side under the stars and the dim light reflected by the moon.
Sometimes, of course, climatic disturbances remind one that the Tropic of Capricorn is moody. But the inhabitants are always prepared to face them, irrespective of whether they do occur or not during the hot summer months. Then, Mauritius very quickly finds back its serenity, and nature its vitality. Island of colors from its flowers, landscape, beaches, lagoons and the surrounding islets, to be visited during holidays - without forgetting Rodrigues Island, further East - its multi-ethnicity, particular characteristics, cuisine as varied as possible, by the activities of its population, and an economy in constant adaptation to the exigencies of the modern world, Mauritius offers to visitors a microcosm where everything undertaken awaits to flourish.
Personally, I am convinced that on this island, I have developed a broad and strong enough mindset which prompted me to launch
TERRAPPA throughout the world. I wish everybody living in the continents to come and experience it during a few weeks, if not more.
